Once in a while you come upon a book that not only impacts the way you think, but that completely changes your perspective on your ‘pain and suffering’. This book is one of those because as painful as it was to read at times, there are other women who have been through remarkably worse yet they have risen like a phoenix and through their life have been able to make an impact in their society. This book is one that will stir you to want to do something for the greater good. As a woman, since turning 30, i began to feel that i should do more, not only for myself, but to fulfill my purpose in life. Half The sky chronicles some women like me who have suffered incredible pain and yet they have used that to make a difference. I must say this will be a call to action for anyone who reads this book. Some parts are graphic and are tough to imagine, but they bad things continue to happen everyday to millions of women throughout the world. The question is, what do we do to help our fellows women. I absolutely recommend this book.
